| Job Description: |
Position Summary: To manage the production of accurate and timely financial information to internal and external users, using generally accepted accounting principles and regulations. To support branch staff and the executive management team in pursuit of the goals established in the strategic plan. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Accurately measure, record, and report the financial performance of the group. Insure the group's financial activities follow sound financial principles and comply with all regulation and GAAP. • Measure and report, by use of cost accounting, the financial performance of branches and departments within the organization. • Monitor and manage the daily liquidity position of the financial institution. • Maintain and update Profitstar ALM software and prepare projections to “what if” scenarios as directed by ALCO or executive management and return findings and reports. • Hire, manage, mentor, coach and evaluate Accounting staff. Expectations: • Complete accurate end of month financial statements by the 3rd business day of the following month. • Maintain costs within the stated percentage of assets. • Meet requirements of internal staffing surveys issued on a quarterly basis. • Maintain a highly qualified staff, sufficient to meet the long-term organizational goals (% of subordinate staff scores) • Work in concert with the management team for the positive growth and well being of the credit union. (Ave Branch Score) Knowledge and Skills: 1. C.P.A. , Certified Public Accountant 2. Ability to lead employees 3. Written and verbal communication skills. Experience: 1. 5+ years Financial Industry accounting/auditing experience 2. 3+ years management experience Education: College Degree Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with members of community leaders, business leaders, and internal managers. Coaching others to perform new tasks beyond their current responsibilities and encouraging others to continuously build on their skills will be key to success for incumbents in this position. External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the company overall. Other Skills: Above average computer skills required. |
